CRAZIEST BIRDIE IN GOLF HISTORY

Imagine this; you step up to the tee box on 17 facing a 347 yard par-4. You decide to choke up on the driver and try to hit it straight. You strike perfectly. So perfect in fact, that the shot lands and rolls right into the hole. Theoretically, you’ve just hit a 347-yard hole-in-one. In reality, it is actually a birdie since your first shot went out of bounds.

Although the story may sound like fantasy, it was reality for the Australian PGA Tour Pro playing the Valero Texas Open. Fortunately onlookers can vouch for what is being deemed the ‘craziest birdie in golf history’.  Armed with Lamkin’s Crossline golf grip, he solidified his place in golf history with the unbelievable shot. A mulligan is the only thing that stood between Tour Pro and becoming the second to record an albatross on a par 4. He still is the first to hit a shot of this caliber, and his first round performance has him one stroke behind the leader.
