More Lamkin Tour Wins in October

Congratulations to the winners of the Turkish Airlines World Golf Final and the Portugal Masters, both of whom use Lamkin golf grips.  The winning spree started with a victory at the Antalya Golf Club.   Equipped with Lamkin Performance Plus 3GEN grips, the winner played immaculate golf all week to win the Turkish Airlines World Golf Final and propel him to No.5 in the world rankings.

The Lamkin Performance Plus 3GEN grip, as used by the winner, was created with a reduced taper to rein in a golfer’s overactive lower hand for straighter, more controlled shots.  The larger outside dimension in the lower section of the grip serves to help players hold off shots while still allowing the full release needed to shape the ball flight.  The 3GEN  compound adds the benefits of increased tackiness, greater UV resistance and improved vibration dampening.  The medium firm, medium density pattern feels soft yet provides excellent lateral friction promoting a light touch and reduced hand tension through the swing,

The winner of the Portugal Masters played a brilliant final round 66, including a 7 iron straight into the hole for an eagle 2 at the 11th.  Posting a final score of 14 under, the winner had to wait to see his nearest competitor lip out at the 18th before his second victory on the European Tour was confirmed.   His grip of choice is the Lamkin Tour Black Full-Cord.   One of the most winning full-cord grips on the European Tour, the Tour Black features a soft rubber compound and a unique cord buffing process that offers a much less abrasive feel than traditional cord grips.  While the feel of the grip is unusually soft, the Lamkin Tour Black Full Cord still manages to deliver the traction and full cord functionality that cord players require.

Lamkin Grips Proudly Covers the World at the 2012 Ryder Cup

With the start of the 2012 Ryder Cup finally upon us, Lamkin Grips congratulates members of both the USA and Europe teams on their impressive seasons.   Eight Ryder Cup players will be using Lamkin grips, including the winner of the TOUR Championship and FedExCup.   Remarkably, Lamkin Grips has equal coverage on both teams, with four Team USA players and four Team Europe players using their premium grips.

A popular grip with Team Europe, the Performance Plus 3GEN has been used by the winner of numerous PGA and European Tour wins since its introduction in 2010.    The grip profile is slightly larger, with a reduced taper, to help golfers control their overactive bottom hand.  The result is more consistent and straighter shots: a benefit two prominent Team Europe players will put in play next week.

Meanwhile, Team USA players are using a wide variety of popular Lamkin grips, including both the Crossline Full-Cord and Tour Series Full-Cord grips.  Both offer incredible traction and unbeatable wet weather performance.  Dozens of PGA, European and Champions Tour players currently play with Lamkin full-cord grips, which will be very well represented throughout the 2012 Ryder Cup tournament.

Lamkin wishes all of the players the best of luck on their upcoming match-ups.  For the most comprehensive and current 2012 Ryder Cup coverage, visit www.rydercup.com.

Big Win For Lamkin Grips at 2012 Nordea Masters in Sweden

Congratulations to the first, second and third place finishers at the 2012 Nordia Masters event in Stockholm Sweden.   The European PGA Tour stop delivered a hat trick win for Lamkin with the three players atop the leader board all using Lamkin golf grips.

Leading the pack, the winner of the tournament at Bro Hof Slott golf club played impeccably from tee to green all week, aided by the Lamkin Crossline Full-Cord grips he has fitted to his woods.  The Crossline Full-Cord is one of the most popular grips used on both the PGA and European PGA Tours.  It’s recognizable pattern of intersecting “cross” lines delivers incredible traction and torsion stability.  The integrated cord fabric delivers exceptional wet-wather performance and slip-free confidence.  Plus, the Crossline Full-Cord is the industry’s only full-cord golf grip available in a midsize option.

Gary McCord Shares Golf Grip Tips in New Lamkin Videos

Golf analyst and author Gary McCord, whose irreverent and self-deprecating style has earned him fans worldwide, has recorded a four-part video series designed to help players maximize Lamkin Grips’ new Performance Plus 3GEN Wedge golf grip. The witty and knowledgeable Champions Tour player loaned his expertise to Lamkin’s online education program that breaks down wedge play into quick, easy to understand lessons.

Comparing club shafts to pencils and hammers, McCord demonstrates how users gain greater control the further they choke down on whatever is in their grasp. By adding an inch to its grip length and maintaining a wider grip base, McCord shows viewers how Lamkin’s new Wedge Grip promotes a choked down grip to improve short-game play.  Throughout the video series, McCord also elaborates on concepts including hand action, swing power, grip size, as well as the differences between soft and firm grips (and when to use which).  Lamkin’s new video series featuring Gary McCord can be seen on the company’s channel at www.YouTube.com/lamkingrips.

TaylorMade Selects Lamkin Grips to Enhance New ATV Wedge Performance

A radically advanced wedge club deserves a radically advanced grip. So when selecting the grip that best complements TaylorMade’s ATV (All-Terrain Versatility) Wedge, the company chose Lamkin’s new Performance Plus  Wedge Grip.  Constructed to improve short-game play, this Wedge Grip is one inch longer than standard grips and features a reduced taper, facilitating proper hand position and traction when choking down on the club.

“Golf equipment manufacturers take painstaking measures to deliver accuracy on the course, and grips are no exception,” explains Lamkin CEO Bob Lamkin.  “Just as TaylorMade designed the new ATV Wedge to perform during critical scoring shots, Lamkin’s Wedge Grip is designed to work seamlessly with the club ensuring maximum control and precision.”

TaylorMade’s ATV Wedge is masterfully engineered, and as such required a grip that could facilitate fairway, chip and bunker shots alike to maximize the club’s utility.  Taylor Made selected the Performance Plus Wedge Grip in black, with a traditional white TaylorMade logo, , to cap off its latest release. This first-of-its-kind wedge grip is crafted to promote proper hand position and tension needed to achieve better short-game results.

Is The Wrong Size Grip Hurting Your Game? Probably

Industry experts estimate that more than 85% of golfers are probably using the wrong size grip.   If you’re using a stock grip (the grip that just so happened to come with your new clubs), then chances are really good it’s a “standard” size.   Imagine buying and wearing “standard” size shoes.  Crazy, right?   All golfers have different sized hands and fingers, so one “standard” size most definitely does not fit all golfers.  Using the wrong size grip can be extremely damaging to your game.   If you’re having trouble generating enough swing speed to hit the ball farther, or if you’re constantly pulling and slicing the ball, check your grip size before you do anything else.  Switching to properly sized grips might very well be the easiest and cheapest way to improve your golf game.  Click here for the full story on proper grip fitting.
