LAMKIN GRIPS GOES BACK TO SCHOOL

At the San Diego Intercollegiate Classic this past weekend, the SMU Mustangs men’s golf team, aided by No. 6 player Aaron Stewart’s third-round 73, walked away with the title. But it was a first-time program executed by title sponsor Lamkin Grips that had participants and onlookers alike talking. With a prestigious field of 12 men’s collegiate teams competing at the nearby San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, Lamkin Grips took advantage of the close proximity to company headquarters to introduce its latest college support program: providing free new golf grips to coaches of eligible Division I and II teams.

“It’s a chance for us to give something back to the players and coaches who work so hard to maintain the integrity of this great game,” said CEO Bob Lamkin.

Lamkin Grips believes in gender equality as well. The company’s latest initiative is also available to any eligible Division I and II women’s golf teams. Coaches interested in receiving new grips can select from any of Lamkin’s current market grips and then send their request directly to griprequest@lamkingrips.com.

Maintaining and upgrading one’s grips is a critical component for any competitive golfer’s game. And this past weekend’s San Diego Intercollegiate Classic, where local powers San Diego State (ranked No. 6 nationally) and the University of San Diego (No. 19) finish third and fourth, respectively, set the stage for an opportunity that only the folks at Lamkin Grips could provide.

“We’re always trying to educate golfers on the importance of regripping,” said Lamkin. “After 50-60 rounds, or about once a year for most golfers, clubs should be regripped. At the collegiate level, players are regripping much more often so providing free grips to their coaches is a great bonus!”

LAMKIN VICTORY AT THE 2012 FARMERS INSURANCE OPEN

What an exciting finish at Torrey Pines during the final day of play at the 2012 Farmers Insurance Open!   After starting the day 7 shots back and finishing his round 3 shots back, the tournament winner pulled out an unlikely victory using Lamkin’s Tour Black Full-Cord grips.   The Tour Black Full-Cord is a favorite among PGA Tour players and has been the winning grip at numerous Tour events over the last five years.   Featuring a classic design with a light surface pattern, the Tour Black full-cord golf grip is made with a proprietary buffing process that creates a much less abrasive feel than traditional cord grips.   It’s a great option for players who need the functionality of an all-weather grip, but want a softer and more comfortable feel.

LAMKIN VICTORY AT THE 2011 LA OPEN

Lamkin posted two TOP FIVE finishes at the Northern Trust Open this past weekend, including a first-place finish for the classic Crossline grip! Also atop the leaderboard, in the 4th place position, was the Crossline Tour grip. Of course the new series of 3GEN grips are earning rave reviews, but there’s a reason why the Crossline brand is one of the best-selling and top-rated grips in the industry year after year! They look great, feel great, play great and wear great. Dollar for dollar, a new set of Crossline grips is probably the best investment you can make in your game. For $50-$60, you can get an entire set of new Crossline grips and totally refresh your clubs. Save on regripping costs with do-it-yourself installation. With a fresh new set of Crossline grips, currently used by dozens of Tour players, you’ll be the envy of your foursome.
