Lamkin Tops $300K in Prostate Cancer Donations
With September designated as Prostate Cancer Awareness month, Lamkin Corporation was particularly pleased to have been recognized by the Prostate Cancer Foundation for its efforts in the ‘Grips for Life’ program, which recently topped $322,000 in donations to their research for treatments and cures.
A world leader in golf grip innovation, Lamkin has been devoted to advancing the game of golf for more than 80 years but, more importantly, Lamkin is devoted to golfers. Lamkin first unveiled the company’s goal of raising one million dollars in partnership with Arnold Palmer and the Prostate Cancer Foundation two years ago. In the Grips to Life program, Lamkin donates a portion of the proceeds from domestic Lamkin-branded grip sales to help fund prostate cancer research.
“Mr. Palmer, who has played Lamkin grips throughout his career, is a prostate cancer survivor and an active participant in the campaign to defeat a disease that affects more than 220,000 men every year,” says Bob Lamkin, president and CEO of Lamkin. “In the time it takes to play a round of golf, 18 men lose their battle with prostate cancer. We’re determined to do our part in eventually reversing this statistic, and we invite golfers, distributors, retailers and clubmakers to join us in the effort.”
In addition to buying Lamkin grips, there are other ways to help support prostate cancer research. For more information, visit www.prostatecancerfoundation.org. |
