Lamkin Donates $400K to Prostate Cancer Research

SAN DIEGO, California, September 19, 2007 —The world’s oldest golf grip manufacturer, Lamkin Corporation proudly announces that the company’s ‘Grips for Life’ program has surpassed $400,000 in donations to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Lamkin achieved the landmark threshold at the beginning of September, which is dedicated as National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

Lamkin has been devoted to the golfers who play the game for more than 80 years, and the golf grip innovator first unveiled its goal of raising one million dollars in partnership with Arnold Palmer and the Prostate Cancer Foundation three years ago. In the Grips for Life program, Lamkin donates a portion of the proceeds from domestic Lamkin-branded grip sales to help fund prostate cancer research.

“Mr. Palmer, who has played Lamkin grips throughout his career, is a prostate cancer survivor and an active participant in the campaign to defeat a disease that will affect more than 234,000 men this year,” says Bob Lamkin, president and CEO of Lamkin. “Prostate cancer is one of the biggest killers in the United States and we invite golfers, distributors, retailers and clubmakers to help us defeat a disease that will affect so many in the golfing community.”
