Lamkin Crossline Wins Women’s Australian Open
SAN DIEGO, California, February 6, 2007 —SAN DIEGO - The winningest grip in Lamkin history, the Crossline grip delivered another championship on the pro tours, winning the Women’s Australian Open and earning a third victory for Lamkin in three straight weeks. This weekend’s Women’s Australian Open champion played Lamkin Crossline grips and won a thrilling three-peat at the Royal Sydney Golf Club.
“Superior stability, comfort and traction are the cornerstones of Lamkin grips, and the Crossline design continues to dominate tour events year after year,” says Bob Lamkin, president and CEO of the Lamkin Corporation. "Crossline grips have won more than $200 million on pro tours, and it is very rewarding to see this week’s champion play to a six-stroke victory with the Crossline."
Lamkin Crossline grips feature a proprietary M2 rubber compound that adds tack and durability while the distinctive pattern increases hand-traction and reduces torque for ultimate performance. The Crossline pattern is available on a variety of models, including full cord, mid-size, jumbo, ladies and junior. In the Crossline cord models, soft cord fabric is strategically positioned throughout the grip, adding maximum traction for all-weather conditions.
At the 2007 PGA Merchandise Show last month, Lamkin introduced custom color options in both rubber and cord models of its renowned Crossline grip. With Lamkin’s Crossline Blue, Red and Pastel Series, golfers can achieve the greater stability, traction and comfort provided by the Crossline design, while enjoying a variety of new color options. The new Crossline Pastel grips are available in Lavender, Pink and Teal and, although they are designed for smaller hands, the Crossline Pastel grips are ideal for golfers with higher swing speeds that require Crossline’s renowned torque-reducing pattern and traction.
“Lamkin has been a world leader in grip innovation for more than 80 years, and we are proud to be the preferred grip of professional golfers worldwide,” adds Lamkin.
