Lamkin Passes Six-Figure Mark in Its Effort To Help Fund Battle Against Prostate Cancer

SAN DIEGO, California, January 24, 2005 - Lamkin Corporation, the world's second-largest manufacturer of golf grips, has passed the $100,000 mark in its effort to help fund the Prostate Cancer Foundation's initiatives to find new treatments and cures for a disease that claimed the lives of more than 29,000 men last year.

The announcement comes one year after Lamkin president and CEO Bob Lamkin, in partnership with Arnold Palmer and the Prostate Cancer Foundation, unveiled the company's goal of raising $1 million. Palmer, who has played and endorsed Lamkin grips for some 40 years, is a prostate cancer survivor and an active partner in the campaign to conquer a disease that affects more than 220,000 men a year.

Since January, 2004, Lamkin has been donating a percentage of its after-market sales to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

"We invite golfers, distributors, retailers and club makers to join us in this effort," Lamkin said. "When you regrip your clubs with Lamkin, you select the company with a head for innovation and a heart for hope."

Bob Lamkin said the company first decided to become active in the battle against prostate cancer several years ago.

"We initially got involved when we lost my brother-in-law to cancer in 2000," Lamkin said. "What really fueled the fire was when we saw the statistics on prostate cancer - one of every six men contract the disease, plus the staggering number of men who die from it each year. It was a real call to action."

Obviously, the company is deeply committed to this effort.
