Lamkin 'Grips for Life' Program Tops $200,000 Mark

SAN DIEGO, California, January 19, 2006 - SAN DIEGO — A world leader in golf grip innovation, Lamkin proudly announces that the company has surpassed the $200,000 benchmark in their ‘Grips for Life’ program, benefiting the Prostate Cancer Foundation. With a goal of raising one million dollars Lamkin continues to donate a portion of all proceeds from Lamkin branded grips to the Prostate Cancer Foundation to help fund research into better treatments and a cure.

“Cancer, particularly prostate cancer, is one of the biggest killers in the United States. Statistics say that one in every six American men will develop prostate cancer in the course of his lifetime,” says Bob Lamkin, president and CEO of Lamkin, who committed himself to the cause soon after his brother-in-law died of cancer. “At Lamkin, we are proud to be affiliated with a foundation that is working so hard to find a cure for this disease and providing hope for so many of this disease’s victims. In January 2004, Lamkin, in partnership with Arnold Palmer and the Prostate Cancer Foundation, unveiled the company’s goal of raising one million dollars. Palmer, who has played and endorsed Lamkin grips for more than 40 years, is a prostate cancer survivor and an active partner in the campaign to conquer a disease that is estimated to have killed more than 30,000 men during 2006.
