1925Lamkin Golf Grips founded in Chicago by Elver B. Lamkin, making it the nation's first manufacturer of grips for golf clubs. 1925Lamkin develops the first leather golf grip. 1960Robert E. Lamkin becomes president of Lamkin. 1963Lamkin introduces the first combination leather and rubber grip, using injection molded rubber. 1980Lamkin incorporates synthetic materials in order to enhance feel and durability. 1985Lamkin moves its headquarters to San Diego and opens a factory in Tijuana, Mexico. 1987Lamkin introduces synthetic moisture-resistant family of grips. 1995Lamkin introduces the first generation of Crossline grips. It becomes the best selling grip in the history of the company. 1997Lamkin formalizes its relationship with Arnold Palmer. 2000Bob Lamkin becomes president and CEO of Lamkin. 2001Lamkin China opens in Guangzhou. 2004Lamkin announces goal to raise $1 million to fight prostate cancer. 2004Lamkin introduces Dual Density, the first true high-tech grip designed to reduce torque and provide superior performance in any type of weather. 2005First milestone is reached as Lamkin passes $100,000 mark in its effort to raise money to help fund battle against prostate cancer. 2006Lamkin introduces Dual Density Torsion Control grips that combine an all-new stabilizing, torque-reduction design, Lamkin's revolutionary base layer and its patented Laser-Tac surface. 2006Lamkin’s Grips for Life Program surpasses $325,000 in donations to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. 2007The winningest grip in Lamkin history, Crossline celebrates its 10th anniversary and more than $200 million in earnings. |
