Grip size is the single-most important factor in determining the proper grip for your golf game. Incorrectly sized grips don't allow your hands to work as a unit, which can bring on inconsistent shots.
|
Specifically, a grip that's too small (one that allows your hands to overlap too much) promotes extra hand action and commonly leads to pulling the ball. A grip that's too large (one you can't comfortably place your top thumb over the other with a standard overlap hold) limits wrist pronation, stifles shot distance, and can cause you to slice or push the shot. To find the right size, hold some grips in a golf shop with your normal grip squeeze pressure while wearing your usual glove. Find the right grip size for your hands with our Find Your Grip page.
Beyond the proper size, choosing the best grip for you is purely a personal choice. Choose the grip that feels best in your hands. When a club is in your hands, you should feel confident and connected to the clubhead.
