Q: what is the difference in using tape with a standard grip vs using a midside grip initally to obtain a midsize?? firmer? shorter life,etc...???

A: If too much tape is used or if the tape is not applied evenly, the grip may become stretched and suffer premature wear.

Q: do you sell any undersize grips in your performance models>

A: Currently we do not offer an undersize model in our Performance Plus or Performance Plus 3GEN models. We are currently working on new models for 2011 - check back later this fall to see if we add one.

We do offer an undersize model in our Crossline series.

Q: Your Perma Wrap packaging says to NOT use soap and water to clean them. Other than water- what can/should I use?

A: Lamkin's full line of synthetic rubber grips can be cleaned using soap and water or simply water using a wet towel. The exceptions to the rule are the non-rubber models (Comfort Wrap, Seamless Polyurethane Putters and 2TEN putters). These should be cleaned with water and a non-aggressive towel to protect from roughing up the polyurethane surface of the grip.

Q: ALL 13 CLUBS IN MY BAG ARE .600 BUTT, I WANT TO PUT ON CROSSLINE MIDSIZE GRIPS BUT THEY ONLY COME IN .580 CORE WON\\\'T THIS MAKE GRIP WHEN INSTALLED LARGER THAN MIDSIZE?

A: Using a .580\" core grip on a .600\" butt shaft will produce an installed grip size of 1/64\" oversize. Midsize grips are generally 1/16\" oversize.

For peak performance, we recommend that all golfers be fit for grips by a PGA professional or a professional clubmaker.

Q: what is the easiest way to properly replace a ribbed grip so that it is on correctly (or square to the club face)?

A: The easiest way is to make sure that the tic marks located near the trim rings on the butt and mouth ends of the grip are properly aligned. This will ensure that the grip is on straight and the rib (or reminder) is installed straight also.

Q: I\'m 74 and never looked at a grip sizing chart. I havr used jumbo grip\'s all my life and find that \"Standard\" is the correct size. What are the consequenses of using too large a grip???

A: Using a grip that is too large may cause you to leave the clubface open, thus resulting in a shot to the right.

Q: It seems as though all of todays \"ribbed\" grips have less of a reminder than previous year\'s models. Is this true and is there any reason for it?

A: At Lamkin, we have not changed the specifications of the rib (or reminder) in our grips.

Q: Hey, I am looking at the new n-dur 3GEN grips but realize they only come in standard size. I was wondering how many wraps I could add to try and make these close to a midsize.

A: For most shaft diameters, we would recommended an additional two layers of tape. We would recommend that you visit a retail store or pro shop that specializes in regripping so that you can be properly fitted for your grips.

Q: I currently have the green, dual density oversized grips on my club and I would like to regrip with a simular grip in one of your current styles. I need to stay with an oversized grip. I wear an XL golf glove. Can you make a recommendation?

A: Performance Plus Midsize with 3GEN material would be an excellent replacement choice. The 3GEN material is extremely tacky, yet durable.

Q: I would love to try your new N-DUR grips but I require a midsize grip. I can\'t find this grip in a midsize. Do you make this grip in midsize?

A: Thank you for your interest. Currently we do not offer N-DUR in a midsize version. We are constantly developing new models, so this one may be available in the future.
The current N-DUR model can be made larger by using build-up tape. Several of our distributors offer tape to do this. Please feel free to contact them.
